Can anyone tell me what school district would my child attend if I moved to Topys Louisiana.?
It would be Middle / High school. I would also like to know what type of sports programs are available.
I’m origianlly from Louisiana and both my memory and a Yahoo seach knew of a place called "Topys". Could you be a little more accurate, then I can help.
The truth is, Louisiana has an absolutely dreadful public school system in nearly every parish. Sending your kid to public school there is like a life sentence, because a crappy education IS a life sentence.
Hate to be so blunt but it’s true.
The State protects this sacred "homestead exemption" on property taxes and the schools suffer for funding and attention as a result. Better find out where you are moving and get your kids in private school….or else!

Chris Schultz the most underrated QB in Louisiana..ranked 9
One of the most under rated kid to come out of Louisiana and was not given a shot. He was an 3.2 student and also ranked in the top 25 in the state and wasnt even look at by Southern Univ.( Check the Louisiana Sport Recruiting mag. fall 2005 vol 9 issue 4) It did a write up on 17 top qbs in the state and he was the 15th that they mention to be the biggest sleeper in the state. I mean the kids high school jersey was RETIRED at his graduation. I had the chance to get my hands on his highlight film. The kid can play, we WILL hear his name in the future

"Loo zee anna" What do you think of the state of Louisiana?
What are some of your first thoughts when you hear the state mentioned or see something about it? What are some of your first assumptions when you think of Louisiana people. What do you know about Louisiana culture?
For those who don’t know: No, we aren’t popular for country music. There’s actually nothing "country" about us, unless it is some of the people who’ve moved in from the neighboring states.
Even the movies get our accents wrong. =)
As for Katrina, I know no one "mooching" off of the government from it. Trailers were given to residents after Katrina b/c they had no other place to go. *IF* the government actually gets these back they get destroyed, not even used for scraps. Whether someone lives in a Fema Trailer or not is there own business. And for some people, moving on is easier said than done.
But some people just won’t be able to understand unless they go through something similar – which I hope none of you have to do.
I think of it as a laid back, fun loving State.
