Louisiana Techs 7 wins came against extremely weak opponents as they beat up on the cellar dwellers from the WAC and Southeast Louisiana from the Football Subdivision. Northern Illinois fought well at 2 BCS schools losing by 4 at Minnesota and 4 at Tennessee. The Huskies passing defense has really stepped it up this season as they recorded some outstanding efforts on the season. NIUs head coach Jerry Kill has done a good job of improving the program in his first year as the team was coming off a 2 win season. NIUs spread offense will be effective against Louisiana Techs weak pass defense that allows nearly 280 yards per game. There are also 20 seniors on the Huskies who would like to erase an embarrassing Bowl defeat to TCU back in 2006 in the Poinsettia Bowl. Take Northern Illinois +1.
