Has anyone ever heard of the Canary Island descendants called Los Isleños in Louisiana?

I’m a Canary Island descendant of Louisiana and I was just curious if anyone ever heard of us or our culture. Dime la verdad. ~ Viva Los Isleños en Luisiana!

You have a fascinating heritage and culture. The islenos of St. Bernard Parrish can trace their roots in Louisiana back to the original Spaniards who came to Louisiana and before that, Tenerife and the Canary Islands. The Canary Islands were the first place colonized by the Spanish Empire in the 1300s.

Unfortunately, many families were affected by Hurricane Katrina,
as well as your Los Islenos of the Canary Islands Museum.

I thought you and others might like this website.

Cajun Style – South Louisiana Cooking "Haricots Rouges"
w/Seasonings and Vegetables

Traditional Monday Red Beans And Rice

1 lb red beans, soaked in about 2 quarts water overnight
3 ribs celery, chopped
1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 large onion, chopped
2 T Zatarain’s Parsley Flakes
1/4 t Zatarain’s Cayenne Pepper
1 package smoked sausage, cut in 1/4-inch thick slices
Serve over Zatarain’s Long Grain Parboiled Rice
Rinse and drain soaked beans; place in a 5 to 6-quart pot and add 6 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 1 1/2 hours, or until beans are tender.

Stir occasionally. Add remaining ingredients and salt to taste; simmer for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add water as necessary.

can somone please compare travel in shanghai to travel in louisiana?i dont mean tracel TO shanghai but IN?

shanghai.thanx

strange question
you can drive cars in both, drive on highways, sidestreets but you will find far less traffic in Louisana, you can take the subway, a bus, train, truck, boat and so on
the signs here in Shanghai will be in Chinese, Pinyin and English (in most cases), the Chinese drive offensively (all looking forward and moving forward and merging from all different directions)

What Are Some Famous people in/from Louisiana?

What are some famous people in Louisiana? I know Britney Spears but i don’t mean JUST singers and actors also like sports players and other things people are famous for… Thanks so much <3

Best-selling author Anne Rice who has written a number of books, including "Interview with the Vampire" which is probably her most popular. Many of her books are set in New Orleans where she was born and raised. I’m presently reading her book "Angel Time"…a really good book.
