Slightly presumptive, saying he is on the rise. He’s a back contender in a new minority sect of the party. He is also not really a protest candidate, given the zeitgeist of the day being the whole, radically fiscally conservative tea party bit. The article was however very interesting and gave me a lot more information on him than I had before. He lost his primary for the Senate rather handily though, the article didn’t mention that.
