Clearly this album was put together with an eye toward sales as I can think of any number of singers that could handle Loretta's material better than some of these 'artists' do – Jean Shepard, Connie Smith and Chely Wright to name just three.
Also would it have killed them to include Loretta's best duet song, “Sweet Thang” ? I would have loved to hear Garth and Trisha tackle that one. I'm sure they would have done it, if asked

Thanks for your comment Ben. The retirement of John Lynn had a lot to do with this post. However, what really shocked me was that the University didn't replace him. You would think military historians would be interesting in coming to the U of I to replace the great John Lynn. Maybe there aren't any military historians left to replace Lynn.
All of those at the PAT banquet last year should remember John Lynn's speech on the death of military history.

Thank you woman.
You have echoed my thoughts and I am glad that you have expressed yourself as a woman.
A woman can be a corporate climber, businesswoman, career woman etc – BUT SHE SHOULD FIRST BE A WOMAN. IF SHE HAS A FAMILY, THE FAMILY SHOULD COME FIRST.
Every person has to decide for his or her own life, but personally, I find it hard to laud a woman who forgoes children and family for a career. To me, that woman far from representing success, models failure.
At the end of the career, then what? A rocking chair to reflect on memories gone by?
I commend you “woman” for having your heart where it should be.
