I first heard him …
I first heard him about 15 years ago in a band with Wayne Bennett, Russell Batiste, David Bastiste and a killer sax player. They were to be the backing band for Earl King. Backing band? They played some of the funkiest greasiest, most grooving tunes I’d ever heard. 2 tunes into Earl’s set, he was passed out on his amp, but Eddie Bo and gang just tore it up. Since I’ve heard him a few times and spoken to him, too. What a beautiful gentle funky soul he is. Thanks for the video.

Eddie Bo is one of the all time greatest New Orleans musicians. Why he isn’t yet a world class superstar is way beyond me. I love every note the man has ever played. I also have had the pleasure and privilege to meet him and work with him, and my respect is deep as the ocean.
