I noticed the comment about using chicken, ham, and sausage. Have you had a chance to make that recipe? I’d be really interested in seeing how you would go about using those ingredients instead of shrimp. I don’t like shrimp, but I’ve had Jambalaya with chicken and sausage before and it was good. I’m dying to make your pasta e fagioli! Thanks for sharing these great recipes with us!

You always do …
You always do really well with your recipes. Not gonna name names, but i saw a video where the guy put cilantro in his Jambalaya, not kosher. You definately got a Creole Jambalaya working with the tomatoes, can tell its from Baton Rouge area. Great recipe, im from Central Louisiana we dont use Tomatoes often, except maybe in Maque Choux. The main difference in a Cajun jambalaya is we brown off the ham, sausage and chicken, making a fond, then using stock to make a gravy add the veggies then rice

SNCC is not the SOUTHERN Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, but the STUDENT NCC. Clicked the link you gave to be sure. Actually, I always associated SNCC more with Anti-VNWar than any southern issues such as racism. But that's because I heard a lot more about it after 66 than before. Hmmm…I was in IL and OH and MN at those times…Anyway, ran across link to your blog in your posting on BUSLIB-L, where Carol responded to my post and others.cheersdan
#8: Ebony Chunky Love: Bitch can’t get a date!
I don't think it's completely innocent. I'm too jaded, probably. I've had enough blunt conversations with people, for me to just simply think it has nothing to do with exactly what the term means.
Like I said, I really don't go up in arms about Southern organizations or their calling it the fight/war for Southern Independence.
And they may very well be just believing that it's the fight for Southern Independence, so they have the right to have it up there. Even if not, it's still their right.
But yeah, I don't know that I necessarily buy it. That doesn't mean that the people working there are the reason for the name. It in no way should be affiliated with the people at the counter, imo.
