Dry Wood (1973)

Dry Wood features the music of “Bois Sec” (Dry Wood) Ardoin, his sons and Canray Fontenot. Theirs is an older, rural style of Cajun music, which, in the film, weaves together incidents in the lives of the Fontenot and Ardoin Families.

Could someone write in french what the old woman is sayin’ in 1:07? Thanks.
i finally saw this film in full a while ago…it was one of the best films i have ever watched in my life…it will be a lifelong favourite now. truly the cream of the crop.
I love to watch this whole movie and I enjoy the Jam session especially between Canray and Bois Sec. I know the Ardoin family very well. My dad’s half brother is married to one of Bois Sec’s daughters.
Thank You for the share. I love this video.
a piece of live of “bois sec” ardoin!…Great clips!
But, don’t worry about this, this is not a big pb, but “Bois sec” doesn’t mean Dry wood in english…this is a bad translation! “Bois” mean wood you are right but in this case “Bois” is from the verb “boire” which mean drink in french. Ardoin was known to drink a lot, so in english his nickname could be “Drink dry” or something like that because “bois sec” is a french expression to say “drink a lot without any soft in your alcohol”.
what an incredible piece of footage. you have me wanting to see all of your films. wow!
Touchant et bien trop vrai… salutations
very good video. thanks for posting it.
i love this video its one of my families home videos. the woman talking used to cook for my mom when she was younger.
