@webcajun I had never heard purple hulled peas until watching your videos. They look a little like black eyed peas? Do they have that kind of earthy , I’d even say dirt like taste, of black eyed peas? I liked the black eyed peas but I think lots of people don’t.

Just made this like you did, but substituted a bag of 15 bean soup mix and used the seasoning that came with it plus salt and pepper. Really good,

My garden is dying down from the cooler weather already. I’m wondering if I should tear everything down and plant some cold leaf vegetables. I have to be learn some new tricks to increase productivity of my garden next year.

This reminds me: Granny planted her peas along side something that looks sort of like your trellis, except she strung twine up and down for the vines to climb. Granny had the best peas ever, probably because they were the earliest. She usually planted her first row in February, and often we'd have some fresh peas for Easter dinner. (Along with young kale, green onions and lettuce. Yum!)
