I've found that the new system of Learning Logs has made a huge difference both to the quality of the children's learning experiences and to the amount of marking in foundation subjects. This is because the logs have taken the pressure off having to set chrn work to be put in books as a means of demonstrating what they've learned. In Geography, for ex, Y5 have thoroughly enjoyed practical work filtering dirty pond water, going on water detective trails round school, watching espresso videos about Africa etc – all valid learning experiences but none of them book exercises, instead recorded in the chrn's own L. logs.

Chicken Hammer – If you’re so afraid to go out in a public venue like a Mall or a baseball park that you have to travel like Dirty Harry, why bother to go in the first place? I’ve attended probably 300 baseball games at Dodger Stadium, Angels Stadium and Giants Stadium over the years and I’ve never once felt nervous or afraid. Fans go to watch baseball, and have fun. I can’t imagine feeling as afraid as you. If I did, I would stay home.
