Good Morning NOLA!  It’s going to be a hot one today. By this afternoon we will reach near record  high in the  eighties.  Only a twenty percent chance of rain in the forecast today but our chances increase over the weekend.  By Monday of next week we will see a forty percent chance.  The forecast is showing a twenty percent chance of showers for Saturday and Sunday. It is only suppose to be isolated thunder storms but be prepared. Tuesday looks like it will start a few days of rain for the Big Easy.  I will have the umbrella at the ready but there is plenty of cover in the Quarter. What’s a little rain after all. So don’t let that keep you from coming out to the French Quarter to see me at the 1850’s House Store.  I will be signing my latest book “If I Were A French Quarter Rat” and also  “I Love You Bigger Than The Sky!”  Whatever you decide to do today, enjoy! See y’all in NOLA!

Good Morning NOLA!  Happy Hump day, today is Wednesday for those of you who have lost track.  Wasn’t it a beautiful day yesterday.  That breeze blowing through the Quarter was perfect. Spring has always been my favorite time to be in the Quarter. It will be sunny this morning but will warm up as the day goes on.The high will be eighty-two degrees today.  But look for cooler temps tonight with a low in the sixties. It will be a little breezy which is always welcome when the humidity is seventy percent.  The forecast is showing just a few scattered storms this week probably on Friday.  It never hurts to keep the umbrella handy. There is still lots going on in the city as usual.   I will  be at the 1850’s House Store sigining books in a couple of weeks. I will let you know exact dates as I get them. So make plans to come out a get your personalized copies of “I Love You Bigger Than The Sky!” and “IF I Were A French Quarter Rat”.  Whatever you decide to do today, enjoy! See y’all in NOLA!

Good Morning NOLA!  I’m thinking it’s going to be another great day.  No rain in the forecast for today. Just a little cloudy with our high near the eighty degree mark.  There will be a few isolated thunderstorms in the evening on Thursday but should move out before the weekend parades get here.  Our overnight lows will be in the sixties.  All in all we really can’t complain.  Next week may see us back in the sixties for our daytime temps which is a little more like our usual for this time of year.  What a great Mardi Gras outlook.  I am really enjoying my time by getting out and about and soaking up some vitiamin D.  Even the evenings are wonderful so make the most of this weather. I had a nice evening with friends over at the House Of Blues listening to My Graveyard Jaw and watching a screening of The Cure for the Crash, a feature film by Brian Paul.  You should check both out if you have a chance.  So get up, get moving and I’ll see you in NOLA!

Oak Alley Plantation in Louisiana video 3

Oak Alley Plantation October 2010 quite interesting I think the house is actually haunted..there were deaths in there. I found it very odd they would not let us in the kitchen and we could NOT enter on the 3rd floor at all. They tried saying it was a fire hazard! whatever! there happened to be a festival there that day so it ended up being really fun. I did manage to get some video of inside the plantation although for some reason they said camaras were not allowed. Watch the other video’s and you will be able to see the inside!!!

Good Morning NOLA! And the rain is back. Partly cloudy this morning with evening showers for your hump day.  There is a seventy percent chance of rain for the Big Easy today.  Showers are building this morning with a drop in the temps tonight after the front comes thru.  Today highs are in the upper fifties but back in the thirties for your overnight low.  Cooler tomorrow and below freezing for tomorrow night.  The good news is the rain will move out with the passing of the front at least until the middle of the week next week.  If we can get through the weekend should be nice.  Sunny and cool, perfect to be out and about soaking up some vitamin D while we can.  Remember that Valentine’s Day is around the corner, get out and pick up something for your sweetie.  You can always come see me at the OCH Market on Saturday and grab a signed copy of “I Love You Bigger Than The Sky!”.  I will have my new book also. “If I Were A French Quarter Rat”.  See you in NOLA!

Sticky: Almost Time For Subrosan

 New Orleans

Hey Y’all! Well, the excitement and anticipation that has been building for months is about to blow, not just in New Orleans but circling the globe. In just two more days the eagerly awaited web series Subrosan’s first episode will be available on you tube. You have been taunted with trailers and teasers, even interviews with the Director, Producers and some of the cast but finally you get a big scrumptious bite of the sinfully delicious Subrosan. Subrosan will have you dancing on that fine line between myth and history. Have you questioning what is real and what is, well… not. Subrosan is a lot like my beloved New Orleans, some of you will deep down get it, some of you will barely scratch the surface, and others will completely miss the subtle undertones that make Subrosan a must see phenomena. The amazing part is no matter which category you fall in you can’t help but be sucked into this web of secrets and lies tangled with truth that are just a little too close to real life to be comfortable. Tag along with Ray Roche, a down and almost out private eye, as he gets caught up in this web. From the “end of the world” down in the Parish, through the historic New Orleans French Quarter streets, across Southwest Louisiana, and around the globe, Subrosan has a very long reach. Who do you trust? The college jock? The Priest? The Politician? Subrosan says: Trust No One… Believe Nothing. You decide. Written and directed by Dwayne Coots this wild ride through shadowy societies intertwined with everyday life showcases loads of Louisiana talent from the dedicated cast of actors to all the behind the scenes players. This is a great example of how people in the Bayou State roll up their collective sleeves and get things done. Please join us for the premiere episode of Subrosan this Thursday April 19th at 8:00 central time at http://subrosan.com/ . Sharon Denise Talbot

New Orleans and the world – it’s almost time for …SUBROSAN.

You can also help Subrosan by supporting us at our IndieGoGo page.  Thanks!

What is UR assessment of Sheriff: ACORN Targeting Me Taxpayer Money To Pay For Rev. Al Sharpton’s Valley Visit?

Question by ❶•☆•xXx•☆— BOMB ♥ SHELL☆•xXx•☆•❶: What is UR assessment of Sheriff: ACORN Targeting Me Taxpayer Money To Pay For Rev. Al Sharpton’s Valley Visit?
PHOENIX — Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has launched an investigation into embattled community action group ACORN to see whether the organization is behind a federal lawsuit against him.

According to Arpaio, ACORN is secretly behind Melendres v. Arpaio, which alleges Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies engaged in racial profiling.

His attorneys issued subpoenas Thursday to the organization’s Washington, D.C. offices, even though ACORN’s headquarters are in Louisiana.

The subpoenas ask for any correspondence relating to the Melendres case between ACORN and Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon, the Department of Homeland Security, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund and the law firm representing the plaintiffs.ACORN’s Arizona director Monica Sandshaefer denied her organization’s involvement.

“Some other organizations are (involved) — we are not,” she said. “Frankly, we were caught a little bit off guard by the subpoena. It seems very nonsensical to us.”

Arpaio also said he wants to know if ACORN paid for Rev. Al Sharpton’s Valley visit.

Sharpton visited the Valley during the summer and, standing next to ACORN director Bertha Lewis, demanded the sheriff’s resignation.

“You don’t think Al Sharpton goes anywhere without being paid?” Arpaio said. “So who pays him?”

Arpaio wants to know if ACORN, which receives less than 10 percent of its income from the federal government, used taxpayers’ money to bring Sharpton to the Valley.

“We’re going to prove it,” the sheriff said. “We’re going in and going to find every penny they spent against this sheriff to keep me from fighting the illegal immigration.”

Sandshaefer said the organization receives the majority of its funds from grassroots efforts. In fact, the recent U.S. House of Representatives vote freezing the group’s federal funding will not affect the Arizona branch at all, since it receives no money from the government.

Arpaio said the timing of the subpoenas had nothing to do with the recent release of videos showing ACORN members offering tax assistance to people who described themselves as a “pimp” and a prostitute.

“We have to prepare for trial, so I don’t care what’s happening with all these undercover videos,” the sheriff said. “(The videos have) no bearing on what they’ve been doing here locally.”

Sandshaefer disagreed.

“This is really about Sheriff Joe attempting to get onto the ‘Bash ACORN’ bandwagon” to distract people from the issue at hand, she said.http://www.kpho.com/news/20991239/detail.html

This does not surprise me at all. most said for a long time how corrupt acorn was, and the proof was right out in front of them to see. I am glad it is finally coming out about these groups such as this.

Sticky: Subrosan Casts Matthew Talbot As Miguel

New Orleans

There is always something happening in New Orleans. But now there is an anticipation in the streets and excitment in the air about something new and different for NOLA thrill seekers. The buzz is contagious and people are talking up a storm about the exciting new web series Subrosan set here in New Orleans.  You may have seen previous posts about the show everyone is waiting to see.  Just in recent weeks they have announced casting decisions on some crucial roles. Auditions have been set in New Orleans for the remaining five speaking roles and filming is about to begin on the first episode.  One such announcement is that of Matthew Talbot in the role of Miguel.  Check out the following press release on Matthew and visit www.Subrosan.com for the skinny on the talented cast of characters and the roles they play in this thrilling ride through the twists and turns of the New Orleans French Quarter and the Subrosan culture.

by Sharon Denise Talbot

What the producers said:  The producers of Subrosan are thrilled to announce that Matthew Talbot has been cast in the role of Miguel for the debut season.

The complex role of Miguel requires physical gifts as well as strong acting skills. We feel Matt will deliver the goods as both an actor and as an impossibly cruel enforcer. We had some interesting meetings about the Miguel character – how do you cast a baby-faced murderer? When Matt stepped up for the role – taking on the language challenges and the complexities of his characters hopeless duality – we knew we had a winner.

You can learn more about Matthew Talbot and his role as Miguel on his feature page.

“Miguel es un hombre peligroso”
“‘Cause he’s a dangerous man. He’s got blood in his plans
Better watch out where you stand, ‘Cause he’s a dangerous man
He’ll make you believe that he’s your friend, But don’t forget it’s just pretend
And he’s a dangerous man….. ”   Trust No One… Believe Nothing

Matthew Talbot is a man of many hats and looking to Matthew Talbot is Migueladd a few more to his collection. This former football and golf athlete as well as a soccer standout is a recent graduate of Iowa High School and will be attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the fall in Pre-Pharmacy.

Matt already holds his certification as a Pharmacy Tech and is in the Honors program at ULL. He will be pursuing a business degree before finishing up his Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Following his parents to New Orleans after graduation Matt has discovered the film industry in what is now known as Hollywood South.

Always looking for the next challenge, his new goal is to make the leap from background and stand-in to serious acting. Matt is very social and outgoing and thrives on the energy of being on set. While school comes first and he is not looking to be famous, when he looks back on his life he wants to be able to say “I did what I set out to do.”

Join us for Subrosan. You’ll be changed forever.

Keep your eyes open New Orleans.  Trust No One…. Believe Nothing…..
