Louisiana High School Football!?

Bastrop High School is being stripped of their State Championship win! Right before Hurricane Katrina a coach from South Louisiana got hired at Bastrop High School. Well when Katrina happened the boys wanted the Coach to come and get them, so he went and got them and brought them back to Bastrop, LA where they eventually ended up deciding to stay and live. And the boys decided to play football in bastrop. Bastrop went on to win the state championship. Now a year later on the anniversery of Katrina, Bastrop is being stripped of their title b/c of ruling that the coach was not allowed to go and pick them up. I don’t see how this is fair, don’t they take into account that these folks lost EVERYTHING, does anyone else have any thoughts on this???
Here are some links to the articles:

I completely agree and I think that everyone should email the Louisiana Athletic Association and protest the ruling! I saw the story in the Los Angeles Times and I am outraged. I’d like to start a protest from California.

Good Morning NOLA!  The day  may start off with some sun (we love our sunshine here at Who Dat? Do Dat!) but by this afternoon showers will be moving in and on it’s tail a new front coming through.  Bring the jacket even though you may end up carrying it for a few hours.  You will need it again later this evening. The low for today will be the high for tomorrow.  It will much colder tomorrow. Temps may drop as much as 30 degrees for some areas of Louisiana after the front makes it’s way through here. The upside is after the showers today there is no talk of rain again until possibly Monday. I have plenty of errands and appointments on my to-do list today.  I hope to get them all done before the rain gets here. Wishing you a terrific Thursday!  See you in NOLA!

Good Morning NOLA! It’s a good looking Saturday morning out there. Through 3pm: Mostly sunny with temperatures rising towards
the low 90s. Winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph. A few isolated thunderstorms developing this afternoon under partly cloudy skies. Heat index near 105F. High 94F. N winds shifting to SE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30%. Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms,
mainly this evening. Low 78F. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30%. Check out the new exhibit at the THNOC. It’s festival season. Essence is here along with the 4th of July holiday activities. This city never sleeps so don’t miss a thing . I hope your plans include music. It is good for the soul. The weather should cooperate so get out and enjoy. The week ahead looks a little iffy. Don’t worry about those scattered showers over the week ahead, all in all looks great. Just keep the umbrella handy just in case. The book siginings at the 1850′s House Store will continue just not over the 4th holiday weekend. They have books in the store and I am back in the Quarter and having a ball. So make plans to come out and get your personalized copies of “I Love You Bigger Than The Sky!” and “IF I Were A French Quarter Rat”. You can also find them at the Great Artist Collective and Adorn Art, both on Royal Street. NOLA Kids on Chartres also has them. Whatever you decide to do today, enjoy! See y’all in NOLA!
