What Indian Reservation welcome visitors as tourists ,that are not to far from Louisiana?
Not all Indian Resevations welcome visitors and I want to go to a reservation on my vacation and learn something of their culture.I’m driving so I would prefer to be closer to Louisiana. I’ve been to Cherokee N. Carolina and really enjoyed the set up there. someone took us around and showed us around and explained thing as we went along. I would like to learn about the other nations as well. I have tried searching and am not too good at it, so I am at a loss. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You
Try the Matta’poni Indian Reservation in King William County, Virginia. The Shaman is John Sun Eagle and his Wife Gentlewind. They are a lovely couple and they welcome all without making reservations..(small joke) but, seriously, they are great people! Check out the Mattaponi Reservation online, go to any search engine, yahoo, google, and you will find their site describing their reservation, history, ect..
The Chief is Chief Webster Little Eagle. We use to go every weekend to see them. They usually have other people there from all over the world. It is great, we are originally from new york city, and we have met people on his reservation from Ireland, France, Spain, Peru, England, it’s amazing how many connections you make from people that are interested in the Native American Indian Culture.
Try also yahoo’s search, type in John and Sharon Sun Eagle on Mattaponi Indian Reservation and see if they have another site up. They also sponsor kids from other Reservations.
If you ever really want to travel the distance, try heading toward the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota during the Summer time or during the "Gathering of the Nations" Pow Wow, all full bloods participate in that pow wow, it is beyond amazing!!
The Indians at Mattaponi will give you more information concerning other reservations you may visit and attend their pow wows. usually their schedules are online..just type in indian pow wows and the state you would like to visit.
I hope this info helps you out some.
Good luck on your next trip!
feel free to ask me about more info regarding the Res.

Purchasing hand guns in Louisiana?
I would like to purchase a handgun for my boyfriend for christmas from Academy Sports & Outdoors. What are the procedures and will i be able to just give it to him? or will we need to fill out some kind of paper work? this is all brand new to me!
Well if your giving the gun as a gift and the receipient is not barred from owing it then its legal. You also don’t need to do anything special when you give it to him as it is considered a private transfer and not regulated. There is no waiting period in your state. You will have to fill out a 4473 form, the dealer will help you if you need it and wait for the phone call backround check to clear. I assume you don’t have any felonies on your record. On that form they ask for your social, its optional and I would say not to give it. Plus you cannot abbreviate anything. So you have to write out YES or NO instead of Y or N. And it needs to be your info, not his. You do need to be 21 to buy a handgun from a dealer.

I’m cooking hot wings today. Do you?
Just for me………………………………………………….
Raw drummettes, frozen. Thaw eight out
overnight…..
> Make a mixture of the following:
> Primo Louisiana Hot Sauce(Frank’s) 1/2 cup
> 1/2 cup of a generic Louisiana HS
> 1/2 cup white vinegar or less
> liberal shake of crushed red pepper
> (vary according to preferred hotness)
> shot of lime juice
> set that on low for an hour or so on
> small burner
> Pour off excess water,
> Place thawed drummettes on china plate.
> Use a sifter or strainer to lightly coat the
> chicken with any type of flour.
> Directions on these drumettes specify
> preheating oven to 400
> As ovens vary, drumettes may be ready
> in as few as 35 minutes. Test one piece.
> When the chicken is done,
> Douse pieces in hot sauce mix. Leave
> them in for 10-15 minutes.
>>>> Serve with celery and dressing.
>>>> Favorite beverage.
.
Here’s another way to do your chisken wings:
Preparing the sauce:
I use a a cobination of 2 cups Franks Hot Sauce and 2 Tbsp of tub butter. Depending on the amount of wings that are being cooked.
Cooking the Wings:
1.) Thaw the drummettes overnight, (in the refrigerator).
2.) Use a deep fryer, either pan or pot. they both work exceptionally well. Pour vegetable oil in the fryer about 1/3 from the bottom and set the fryer to 400 degrees. Let the oil heat up for about 15-20 mins. This will allow all the oil to become equal temperature.
3. You can either coat the chicken with flour or continue without. PROS/CONS: w/ flour, the wings absorb more oil. W/O flour, the wings have a more crispier texture.
4. Place the Wings in the fryer and cook for 12mins.
5. Once the wings are done, place them in the sauce mixture and coat.
6. Serve with Ranch, Blue Cheese, Celery and Carrots.
